Have you ever wondered just how amazing our God can be? As I reminded you last week, God is faithful, generous and loves to please. He is a good God who never breaks His promises. He is a God who blesses His people in incredible ways. Today, we witness first hand the magnificence of God as He blesses His chosen king in ways unheard of in all of history – past, present and future! As we unpack 1 Kings 4 we cannot help but notice the generosity of our Sovereign Lord. This is a show of great power as He bestows upon one man incredible wisdom, power and wealth. It is almost obscene in what He gives to Solomon. Such is God’s delight!
In this section of Scripture we are reminded that our Father in heaven loves to bless His people in a myriad of ways. Sometimes, in our modern and fast paced lives, I think we forget exactly what God has given us. He truly is our Provider! We have been blessed in amazing ways and the great news is that even greater blessings are to come our way based on God’s unfailing promises. Can I encourage you to consider the following small list of promises given to us in the New Testament? If God can deliver to Solomon in the way He did then there is no doubt that He will also deliver to us. How blessed we are to be in Christ and one of God’s precious children. His love never fails and His blessings are new every morning!
