It is a new year and slowly but surely life is becoming normal again. So what is in store for us as a church family for 2015? Will there be any changes in our direction as we seek to be a church family after God’s heart? Our church theme remains the same … Reaching In to Reach Out! God has called us to tell others about the good news of Jesus in our community. Our major thrust will remain the same and that is to become ‘international’ as we seek to show the love of Jesus to those whom God has placed near our church. We will need to be more intentional in all that we do if we are to truly reach out to those who are in need of a Saviour.
I guess my heart is eager to see all within our church family integrally involved in having the same heart as our Heavenly Father. I have often said that the church is not for the spectator. We all need to be players taking our part in the game … the game of showing the love of Jesus to others. We are building quite a formidable team of players. There are some joining in for the first time. Some are stepping out in faith and trying something new in serving. O how I love to see our people do this because this is faith in action! This is what we are learning about in the book of James. My vision is to help and assist all of you to be serving your Lord in some capacity here at Grace!
Yes we will try some new ventures. Our youth group (United) will now meet
on Friday nights. We will appoint a Youth Pastor to assist in children’s and youth outreach. As our church family grows with young families we will start a playgroup ministry called Mainly Music in the next few months as we seek to reach out to lonely mothers in our community. We will focus our attention through prayer on nations who are closed to the gospel so that we continue to have a heart for the nations. We will begin discipling one another through ‘one on one’ Bible reading. And yes we will continue with our present ministries and seek to spur each other on through our worship and Grace Group Bible study.
The question though is this: where do you fit in to the life of our church family? God has given you gifts, skills, talents and abilities. How can you use these in the life of our church family? Come and talk to me and I will joyously walk with you and help you to bring glory to God in your service of Him and the people around you!
