Philippians 1:27-30: The Conduct of the Gospel
How can a Christian act like a Christian? There is no exhaustive list or set of rules to follow in the Christian life, so how can a Christian know how to act, speak and live in a way that is appropriate? Paul gives the answer in Philippians 1. In it, he tells Christians to live like who they are in Christ and he helpfully gives three ways in which they can specifically do so.
Philippians 1:18-26: The Priority of the Gospel
One of the most famous lines in the entire New Testament is found in Philippians 1:21 “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” But what exactly does the Apostle mean? How does Christ change a person’s life and change the way they look at death. The explanation of this passage helps to answer these questions and it also provides a litmus test for genuine Christianity.
Philippians 1:12-18: The Progress of the Gospel
Paul, the great preacher and missionary, has been thrown in jail. Yet, he says that the gospel is still progressing. But how can the gospel continue to advance in such challenging circumstances? Paul gives us the answer.
