It was quiet humbling sitting in the lounge room of a young family being served lunch after church last Sunday. Mama Justin and Baba Justine invited us to share lunch with them in their small house located up an unformed track about 100 metres off the main road. We had enjoyed a good service where about 13 adults attended for Holy Communion. My son, Glen, together with the young elder Christopher, led the service. It is morning and the roosters are crowing and the birds are singing. The voices from the shamba (farm) next door awaken me from sleep. It was a long night as loud music played all night from a property somewhere in the distance. This was the second night that the music blared out across the quiet of the night on the banks of Lake Victoria. The music was from a funeral as families and friends gather together for a time of mourning that lasts…
