WHO IS JESUS?

Jesus is the greatest person who ever lived. There have been many people who have made an impact on the world, but none has changed the course of history like Jesus. His teachings have formed the moral framework of our laws and values. Countless charities, hospitals and schools have been founded in his name. Even the way we designate time is centred around him.

How did a lowly carpenter from an obscure town 2,000 years ago become the central figure of the human race?

The answer comes when we realise that Jesus is more than just a wise teacher or a religious leader.

  • Jesus is one with God the Father and the Holy Spirit in an eternal loving relationship within the Trinity. He concealed his divinity and was born as a man through the virgin Mary. As a human, he experienced the temptations and hardships of being human but remained sinless throughout his life.

  • Jesus spent much of his time not with the religious, but rather, those who had wandered far from God – people like you and me. Although he was innocent, Jesus sacrificed his life on the cross to pay the penalty for all our wrongdoings so that we might be forgiven and reconciled with God.n

  • Three days after his death, Jesus came back to life to prove that he is God and to show his victory over the powers of evil and darkness. He gathers his followers together as his family to love one another and obey his teachings. He sends the Holy Spirit to transform and empower us to become more like him each day.

  • When Jesus was on earth, he gave us glimpses of a better world – a world where illness and disease are healed, natural disasters are under control, the poor and the outcasts are welcomed, and even death is defeated. Jesus promised that he will come back one day to this a permanent reality and rid the world of evil forever.

  • The Bible is a historical account of God's plan to bring people into relationship with him through Jesus. It also tells us God’s design for the world and how to make sense of all the ups and downs of life. It’s no wonder that the Bible is the best-selling book of all time!

Our Team

  • Pastor Ernest is married to Carmen and they have a son Jacob. As someone who was born in Hong Kong but grew up in Sydney, he enjoys the best of both Eastern and Western culture.

    Ernest has a long association with Grace Church (going back to 2004) but formally became the pastor in May 2015.

  • Pastor Nathan Muse joined Grace Church International as pastor in July 2018. Originally from the United States, he has taught for several Bible colleges and was involved in pastoral ministry there from 2008-2016. He is passionate about pastoring, preaching, and serving the church in a way that is God-centered, Bible-saturated, gospel-driven and grace-motivated.

    Nathan and his wife, Kristin, enjoy living in a beautiful city like Sydney with their two boys, Jack & Alistair. When he is not playing with the kids, reading a book or preparing a sermon/lesson for church, he enjoys sports, hiking, theatre, and eating good seafood whenever possible.

  • Lisa grew up at Grace Church, but it wasn’t until her twenties that she came to know the Lord personally. She now serves part-time at church in many areas, including communication, cross-generational ministry, community engagement, mobilisation and administration. She is passionate about connecting and relating to her church family.

    In 2024, Lisa joined Ministry Training Strategy (MTS) after 3 decades in the corporate world. She is the Donor Relationship Manager at MTS and excited about using her professional skills for a new purpose and direction.

Our History

Grace Church International was founded in 1985 as the English ministry of Grace Chinese Christian Church. It was started in response to the needs of the children of Chinese migrants. But as time went on, our desire grew for those who lived in our neighbourhood as well. In God's kindness, he has brought people from a variety of ethnicities to our church. Today we have people from all ages and backgrounds in our church family.
